and with today's rising costs of living do you think it still will be possible or will you have to work longer than you had hoped?

I've not given it much thought since I'm 25, but I know its something I might wanna think about, but right now I have some other stuff going in my life that thinking about retiring isn't on the list.

I'm 31 now.  My husband has a great retirement plan on his job, so I'll probably work until he gets his next promotion, which should be in 1-2 years.  Then, I plan on staying home or working part-time.  I know....I probably shouldn't be so dependent on hubby, but that's how I am...lol.

Great question! I've given this a lot of thought, too. Granted I'm only 29, I've had a 401k since I was 24. It's always best to start early because you never know. I don't even know if social security is even going to exist by the time I retire and I know that a lot of retired folks rely on social security because some cannot rely on their retirement money alone. I have a 401k w/my employer and they are really good at matching. I have 5% of my salary deducted each paycheck that goes to my 401k. I also have a savings account that earns interest and I also have an IRA which is interest bearing as well.

It's never too late to think about retirement and if you are young, start now.

Well, I no longer work but I imagine officially I will retire at age 65 and get all the benefits. My husband has a great retirement plan and we are financially sound so I don't see a problem at all.
