With delivery looming, do you have any concerns?

Do any of you all have concerns or fears about your impending delivery? If you're scheduled for a c-section are you worried at all about going into labor early, or is that not usually an issue for you?

I feel ridiculous, personally. Here I am preparing to have baby #3. I've had one with an epidural and one without pain meds. Having done it both ways--I have the jitters about either option! I don't recall being so nervous about delivery of either of the boys. For some reason this time I am spending a lot of time fretting over what type of delivery I might have and how bad/easy it might be. Silly! It's not because I have a birth plan or a specific thing I want to do, but I just wonder how it will all pan out, how it will start, how long it will last, etc. I'm driving myself crazy.

Nope, I have none.  I see it like this, it is no idea of fretting over something I actually have  zero control over until it happens.

I will not have epidural because last time I had it, it took me two days to get the feeling back in my feet and I  know that is rare side effect BUT I don't dare  do it again.

I am using denial to cope with my delivery anxieties LOL. Last time my water broke and I went from 6cm to meeting the baby in 7 minutes. I am terrified of my water breaking at home or something like that. I expect to go overdue and I am dreading going 2 weeks over like I did last time. We haven't really decided on a home birth or a hospital birth and either option produces different hesitations. Blah. Like I said I am going with denial for now.

I am only concerned about going into labor early because we don't have family that lives close by that could drop in on a moment's notice to take care of DS if it's in the middle of the night. I'm sure the hospital will accommodate him if we need to and if I do start labor early, I still will have the surgery. And my sister in law lives about an hour away, so she can still get to us if we need her to. But I'm not going insane or freaking out or anything like that. What happens will happen, it's out of my control. DS was a week late with an induction and last minute c/s. We're scheduling this one at 39 weeks. I think it will be fine.

That's so funny because I was just thinking about the same thing recently. I had an epidural the first time but they did it wrong.

They put it too high in my back and it hurt like h*ll when they put the needle in. Then after that I told them that I was still having pain down low in my stomach and lots of painful pressure in my thighs. So they injected my thigh with some more pain meds. It didn't work because I was still having pain, ripped and felt it, and had lots of the pressure type pain.

Regardless of that experience I was planning on getting an epi with my second. It was at a different hospital so I was hoping that I wouldn't have a repeat. However, when I was admitted for labor I thought "I can do this." So I declined the epidural. That was the worst pain in my life! I know if I had to do it again I could do it but man I will never forget how painful it was.

Then with my third I had the epidural. They did it correctly and I didn't have any pain during injection and I was actually feeling so good that I was laughing between pushes (I had a very kooky dr. that made me laugh).

This time I will not be delivering at the same hospital because we no longer have the same insurance. So I am feeling a little hesitant about getting an epidural. At the same time I remember the pain from going natural and don't know if I want to go through that. However I figure this is my fourth and labor should be quick and I am wondering if it is worth it to even get one.

I am also worried that he will be overdue. All the worrying about him coming early has left. I know now that he is just playing around with mommy and being my fourth all of the contractions and such are normal. My third was overdue and I was induced two days after my due date. My mom is coming up from California and I really want her to have time to spend with the baby. I don't want to her to come any later than scheduled as she is set for flying here for my second daughter's bday (a surprise for her!). And she really can't stay longer as she will already be here for a month.

I really hope this time I can go natural without being induced. I've only done it once with my second and I hope that it will happen this time.
