In an effort to reign in the cost of college, there's a push to create free or inexpensive textbooks.  Traditional textbooks can cost more than $150 each, so I love this idea!  Even if you buy a textbook used, there isn't a huge price difference.

Are you starting to see less expensive options for your textbooks?

Thus far, the only less expensive option I've had for my textbooks has been to rent them (which I don't like to do because I prefer to keep my books) or the one that was available as an eBook (which I did purchase that way). I actually like the eBook because I was able to do the alt+F thing to find key phrases for exams and papers (it was an online class, so exams were open book).

the best book buying option I've found is to use a site called bigwords.com where I can enter the ISBN of the book I need, and it searches the web to find me the book at the best prices. Sometimes, once in a very blue moon, the bookstore is the better price, but generally speaking, for books my peers are spending $150 on I'm spending less than $50 with shipping. Now, I'm almost (finally!) done with school, but my dd and my dh are both in school, so we go right on buying and selling on the web to save over the cost of the book store.
