Preggo Co-worker Rant "Its different for you because you don't have kids"

I haven't been here in a long time but felt the need to share this one.My pregnant co-worker was saying how she can't wait to send Christmas cards next year when she has her baby and I said something like how I am so bad about sending cards and the she proceded to say " well its different for you because you don't have kids".How is that different? It doesn't mean I can't compose a card with a photo of myself,DH and our adorable dog just because I don't have kids.I said that too but in a nicer tone.

What an odd thing for her to lash out about. Pictures or no pictures, kids or no kids I didn't realize there was a monopoly on holiday card. Strange. Glad you spoke up for yourself!

I will admit...Christmas is totally different for us because we don't have kids: I can have peppermint bark for breakfast and don't have to worry that I'm being a bad influence; our shopping didn't include a single battery; the house will still be clean on Christmas morning; after our guests leave on Christmas Day, DH and I can settle down for naked movie night, if we want. LOL

I've never personally had someone say that sort of thing to me but I'd like to think that if they did I would say in a sort of dreamy tone, with a stange, happy smile, "That's right. I don't. Jeez I'm lucky."
