Welcome to the Cleft Lips & Palates board. Each year in the U.S., over 5,000 babies are born with clefts. That is approximately one newborn in every 700 live births. It is possible to have a cleft lip with or without a cleft palate (a hole in the roof of the mouth) or just a cleft palate. We hope that you will find support, encouragement, and friendship here.
