Valentine's - Dining in or out?

We usually stay home, just because the crowds and prices are crazy on the actual day. DH often takes me out the following weekend or something like that. What can I say, we're "frugal." :smileywink: At home he'll make a nice steak though and we usually do something fun for dessert with the kids like chocolate fondue or an ice cream sundae bar.

If you're eating in this year, here are some recipes to inspire you...

Like you, we rarely go out on Valentine's day. We did several years ago when we had a gift card to a local steakhouse & V-day happened to be on their " kids eat free night". We splurged with appetizers, crab & lobster that night! I will probably do something special, maybe steaks cuz we all love them. I will check out those links & see if I get inspired!

My DH works in a town 2 hours away, and won't be home on V Day. But I'll probably think of something fun to do with the girls for dinner. Maybe a chef salad night. This weeked we're making Vanentine's cupcakes. I bought cute cupcake liners and heart sprinkles. We usually do sugar cookies, but I figured cupcakes wold be easier! Andwe're sugar cookied out from the holidays still.

I got goodies for the girls and a small gift to give them on V Day, and a little something for DH also.

Yum! Steak and lobster sounds so good. We usually don't buy seafood since we're in Colorado...it just never tastes all that good. We sure do splurge on it when we're near a coast though!

Oh I'm so glad you said that. I hadn't thought to get something for the kids yet!
