Didn't bundle, but still saved
I had an appointment all set up to switch my home phone from Quest(Century Link) to Comast(xfinity) and after doing the math and seeing my sisters set up at her house, I decided to cancel.
When I called to cancel, they offered me a free premium channel for 6 months which I always decline. You know what happens, you get hooked on a show and don't want to cancel. Or you forget about it. Or you do cancel and have a resentment that they got you hooked.
So, they offered me a promotional price on my cable, which I think will save about $25.00. This will be the third, 6 month discount I have been able to get.
Because my house phone is a grandfathered in plan from Quest, I think I may call them and at least make sure I am getting the most bank for my buck. Their rates just went up, which triggered my initial call to switch to comcast.
The bundle "deal" is only for a year and after seeing how it all plays out in the home, I changed my mind.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Ultimately, it worked it just as well.

My X-DH went to the cable company last week in hopes of lowering his bill -- and somehow managed to sign up for an even more expensive package!! He said part of it was that he got confused with all the bells, whistles and promotions they were offering him.
Good work serenity!

Bundles can be dangerous. I think you did the right thing.
We no longer have a land line for our home. DH has one for his business, which is always there for us to use. Only a few close family members have that number. I am so glad we let our home land line go. I don't miss it, matter of fact, during all the political crap, I'm glad it's gone.

First, I have a business and use my land line, and have been using the same house number for both home and business for many years.
Second, I am kind of paranoid that if there is an emergency, I won't be able to find my cell phone, or it won't work for whatever reason. Dead battery, no service, or what might have you. Plus, not sure if my address shows up.
The phone in my bedroom is a corded phone, so I always know where it is, and that if I call 9-1-1, I could drop the phone and they would still come.
That is just me.
But yea, very glad I decided not to bundle.
