All of a sudden, I started getting these red painful bums on my areola. They feel like a bad pimple, but they dont look like a pimple at all. Just red and really painful. What in the world could this be? Im in a LOT of pain when I have my LO over my shoulder to burp him because he presses against my boobs and, therefore, the bumps

Do these bumps have white or clear surfaces on them - like blisters?  Are they itchy or just sore?

I'm thinking maybe thrush or milk blisters (blebs), BUT if this is a real issue for you and is causing more pain than you think is normal, since we can't see what you're refering to or know for sure, it's always good to see a doc or an LC when you aren't sure!

they're not white at all, just red and painful! Like a bad pimple! Not itchy at all. I might end up having to go to the doc because its slightly painful when pumping and REALLY painful when something rubs up against it. There is a bigger one on my left breast thats really bothering me and some small ones on the right that are irritating but tolerable

Hi Kristen

This might be a montgomery gland infection. I had it more than once (happens when they get clogged). You can refer to the post below:
