HELP!!!!  I ep'd for my baby girl and used my frozen milk for 4 months with her. ......and I never smelled it.  I am ready to quit pumping with my baby boy who is 8 months old and use the 4000+ ozs I have frozen and I am finding that it has an odor-not sour-just different.  PLEASE let me know if this is normal or if this is bad.  I am about to have a meltdown!

It may just be your freezer, an odor seeping in from another food. What I always did when thawing milk that's more than a few weeks old is taste it. It should taste like sweet milk. Not sour, not bitter, just a little sweet. If it tastes fine, then the milk is okay, especially if the smell isn't sour or anything.

Hope that helps :-)

My milk from the freezer has always had a metallic smell and taste to it. I find it to be revolting but my dd gobbles it up without any hesitation so I stopped worrying about it. As long as you know it was handled properly, and your lo does not object I would use it. Good luck.
