Anyone Else Overdue?

I was due yesterday and the waiting is already killing me!  I have all the supplies I need for a homebirth in boxes in our bedroom and my 19 month old keeps unpacking it all.  Friends and family have been calling all week already to find out if anything is going on, and I feel like I am on a major countdown now because my midwife has to hand me off to an OB once I am 2 weeks late.  My nearly 20 year old step son in flying in to move in with us on the 29th and I was hoping to have more time to get settled in a little bit before he arrives as well.

Tell me I am not the only one on pins and needles!!!

I am from the January board and I know how you feel. This time around (# 3) I wasn't supposed to go past 41 wks as I have had 2 prior sections but was trying for a VBA2C. The closer I got to my due date the more antsy I became and after my due date I was just miserable. Lucky for me, I was able to push off my c-section for a few more days. The day before I was scheduled for the surgery, I took castor oil and it worked. My doulas recommended it but only if you are overdue, dilated, effaced or a combination thereof. I was 2 cm, 70% effaced, and 8 days overdue. I took 2 oz of castor oil mixed with a large glass of orange juice at noon on Saturday and my beautiful but big (9 lbs 12 oz) baby boy was born at 1:07 am on Sunday. Oh and I had been in early labor for a couple of weeks and was losing plug throughout. If you think your body is in labor but needs that extra push I would try the castor oil. Just remember to take it during the day. You don't want to lose precious sleep by taking it at night and having to keep getting up to use the bathroom. HTH...Good luck
