February 2012 Expecting Club: Chit Chat
Team Green...Baby was born on 1-22-2012 at 2:16 pm
and.....IT"S A BOY!!!!!! I was so excited when we found out. Bron Asher Fitzwater, 37 weeks 5 days, 6 lbs 9 ozs and 19 inches long.
It was an amazing experience for us. I had a previous c-section and then 3 vbacs that were WAY fast, with little to no pain medication. This time I was 2 centimeters and 50% effaced at my last appointment. Early Sunday morning at 5:15 am I woke up with painful contractions. I woke John up at about 6am, they were coming every 5 minutes or so. We woke up the kids we had here and got ready to go to the hospital. Got to L&D at 7:30 am and I was 4 centimeters and having contractions about every 4 minutes. At 9:20 they broke my water. Contractions got ridiculous painful, I was at 5 centimeters and I opted to have an epidural rather than waiting like I did with all my other vbacs. The epidural actually slowed everything down. I wasn't real numb and could move both of my legs, but I could feel no pain, just the tightening of my stomach. It took until almost 2 pm to get to 9 centimeters and then the DR pushed a part of my cervix, that still had a lip on it, through a couple contractions to get me to 10. I was still at 0 station so she had me push a couple times to get him to drop the rest of the way. Then came the serious pushing. I had a mirror to watch for the first time....yeah gross, I had them move it right away cause it looked painful and ewww. I pushed through about 3 contractions and his head popped out, immediate relief, then this was the weirdest part I have ever felt, he was kicking and moving all around inside while his head was out. I made a comment about it and then it was time to push the rest of him out. It felt so relieving to get him out of there even though I didn't feel any pain. The dr originally said it was a girl, and then said wait it's a boy! I kept asking really? is it really a boy? while bawling my eyes out. For the first time I didn't need any stitches. It still hurts, but not all that bad. He is just the sweetest little thing. We got out of the hospital monday night. Had a rough first night and a delightful second. My older kids are just smitten with him. He is such a blessing to our family.
I have to figure out how to get pictures on here again because I can't remember how.
