My doc said on Friday he will strip my membranes I've never had that done but I'm hoping it works! In the mean time I've been going up and down stairs for half an hour at a time doing high knees and squats, pressing on accupressure points, adding hot sauce to most of my food, and sex . I'm hoping that she will come soon ;I am trying to avoid a potocin induction. I may try castor oil if she doesn't come by next week since it did work for me to get labor started for my last baby. Anyone have any stories to share?

I am trying to start labor.  So far I have tried nipple stimulation, sex, 30 min. walks, lunges, squats, orgasms.  I was 2 cm when she checked me at 36 weeks.  I am ready to meet the baby but I am starting to think she wants to make my womb her permanent residency.  Yesterday during my walk I did notice some pain in my lower back and some cramping this morning.  I am crossing my fingers she will be born by next Friday.

I heard stripping of the membranes is very painful.  Good luck!  We don't have much longer to wait :smileyhappy:

My friend delivered yesterday...............after 4 membrane strippings over her weekly appointments lol So I guess they work for some and not others. I've never had it done. Castor oil was also tried by several friends and just awful side effects without labor.

I've tried lots of the more common things- sex & long walks at the mall mainly. I still lift my 23month old a lot although I'd prefer not to :smileytongue: I have loads of contractions but my babies like to make things difficult LOL I'll be induced in 8 days if he's not here sooner. My inductions have all gone easily and have been good experiences. Baby #1 was induced at 42 weeks for heart decels (cord around neck), #2 was natural at 41 weeks but only 3 hour labor, #3 induced so that I wouldn't have an even faster labor at home with dh at work & no way to the hospital thats a long drive away #4 will be induced for the same as #3 :smileyhappy:

I havent been doing much.. I am being induced saturday (this is also my third induction).. I have heard that certain "self inducing" labor tricks can cause fetal stress and also for the baby to poop.. My last baby had a HUGE amount of muconium and i tried like hell to get her out..lol.. So this time im being safe.. just doing my regular day to day stuff..

I have had my membranes stripped with every pregnancy.. this time I have had it done 3 times.. im 5 cm and have lots of contractions every day... but my body just doesnt want to work!!.. Its painful.. but it can def work for some people..

I did everything to go into labor had my membranes stripped at 39 weeks and at 40 weeks. I finally did the castor oil on thursday the 2nd at 3pm I took it mixed in with a milk shake. I gagged it down and really only had 2 bowel movements. (I was 2 cm and 50 percent effaced at my appointment) had some mild contractions thought it was not going to work for me.... well at 12:55 am I was laying in bed and had this sharp pain like when my membranes were stripped and had a pop my water broke. I got to the hospital at 1:30 am I was 4cm and 70 percent. I walked until 4am went back to be checked and I was was 6cm and 80 percent. I then got into the bed and had massive contractions asked for the epidural by the time they got there with it I was crowning and pushing the baby out. I had my son at 5:11 am and he had no complications from the castor oil! If I ever have more children I will use this method again (I also ate fresh pineapple and walked a lot the day I did the castor oil)
