Great weather for being outside --- here, anyway. For anyone in Colorado, I feel for you but please don't send that weather this way. If this be global warming, I'm all for it!

So... goals for last week: did you make them? HAve any to-do lists for this week? Please share!

Last week was full of appliance repairmen!…

Monday

* wait for the satellite guy (8 - Noon) since our reception seems to be all screwed up by a misalignment of the satellite and the download of new software. Three (out of four) sets were all bollixed up beginning with the BCS championship game, and while two  seem to have recovered, one television isn't getting ANYTHING in the way of signal! === he came and went and, with three sets put as right as they can be with a failing satellite dish. He's not allowed to do roof work so a new appointment Wednesday for a contractor who can!

* wait for the appliance repair guy (Noon to 2) who now has the broken pilot light part for our cooktop…=== DONE! YAY! No more using the BBQ fire stick to light the gas! He actually came in while I was walking to the satellite guy, heard us talking, fixed the stove and then called up the stairs to tell me he was going. DO you think I have an open door policy? Am I CRAZY?

Tuesday

* Dexascan at 1, Mammogram at 1:30! Woo Hoo (NOT!)  === DONE Call from the Doctor telling me I had osteopenia (don't they check their records? That's why I HAVE Dexascans) and that I need to be taking Ca++ and Vitamin D supplements (that's in my case history too!). Oh well, no bad news there... And got a letter form the radiologist --- the mammogram was clean!

*Girls' Night Out  === DONE, bought some things for a Valentine's Day card (which I have yet to make) and found one of the pens NOT in my bag when I unloaded the next day. Wonder where that one went! Probably with the missing brayer in my stamping stash!

Wednesday

  • * housecleaner  === DONE
  • * pay bills and balance the accounts  === DONE
  • * wait for satellite repairman #2 === DONE, but he didn't want to go up and that roof and didn't bring the supervisor required to "harness him" so he could. So he repeated every test the other guy did and then some, only to determine that the first guy was right and the satellite LNB (or maybe the DVR ___ AAACK!) needed replacing!  So a call in to the supervisor and waited an hour for him to show up with the right satellite part and up and the roof he went. Done and dusted, as they say in London, but we have satellite again! YAY! And I won't have to replace my DVR just yet! TRIPLE WAHOO!

And stitching ---  continue working on the one Stash Busting Club piece  === DONE, completed and posted;  and on "Sewing With Mama"  === NOT DONE. Play around with Kimono- Revisited by a) copying the chart,  === DONE b) finding the right size stretcher bars, found the 18" half of them, the other half I need to shop for, I guess c) begin the outline === NOT DONE. - can't until I get those stretchers and the outline threads from Needle in a Haystack; and look into more floss choices === DONE  on order from Cathe at Needle in a Haystack

Continue walking… trying for one mile a day. === DONE  Got in Five miles this week!

I hope this week is a little calmer and less fraught with electrical failures!

Monday === run off to Hobby Lobby and look for 15" stretcher frames...

Tuesday - Girls' Night Out

Wednesday

  • * housecleaner
  • * pay bills and balance the accounts

Thursday - Quilt Guild

And stitching ---  continue working on "Sewing With Mama". Play around with "Kimono- Revisited" by finding the right size stretcher bars... Work on Crazy Quilt Journal/Bead Journal Project piece, and the fourth Stash Buster project (which arrived last week).

Continue walking… keep trying for one mile a day.

Enjoy the cruise ... (if it were me, I'd skip 90% of those formal nights! Don't those people KNOW what it costs for luggage these Amy's?) See you when you get back, all rested and relaxed!

I can't remember what I did last week & have no plans for this week.  The reason is that our only GrS was killed by his DW in a domestic dispute.  He suffered PTSD after returning from Iraq and wouldn't accept meds or counseling.  Our DS called us shortly after midnight, so it's been a long night.  When I couldn't sleep, I came in & cut more quilt squares.  It was calming to have something to do.

I have no idea what grandparents of deceased are expected to do.  Luckily our DGrD lives 15 miles from them, so the 3 GrGrs are with her and her MIL is flying in from WA to help.  It's a small house, so I don't want to run out & make things worse.  I am numb.  My stomach is churning & burning, so I know the acid must be flowing.

Be back eventually,

Jacquie
