Goals & Accomplishments
Weekly Goals, February 6, 2012
Great weather for being outside --- here, anyway. For anyone in Colorado, I feel for you but please don't send that weather this way. If this be global warming, I'm all for it!
So... goals for last week: did you make them? HAve any to-do lists for this week? Please share!

Oh, Jacquie, I'm so very very sorry. You, your son and granddaughter are in my thoughts and prayers.
As for what do you do? You be there for them and they will be there for you as well...
Words fail...

As I'm pretty good at making arrangments, etc., I let all concerned that I'm at their disposal.
The news reports make it clear that she had been attacked & she had not been arrested. The sherrif had been to the house previously, so knew the volatile situation.

Oh Jacquie - what a sad, sad thing for your family. My thoughts & prayers are with you. Untreated mental issues are so horrible for all concerned.

Well, I still don't seem to be getting anywhere with my goals - life just keeps intervening. After getting Uncle Bob settled in the nursing home, I did manage to make it to my Stitchers Guild meeting on the 25th. Turned in the kissing pillows I had done while sitting with Uncle Bob. He was doing well & was scheduled to be moved back to the board & care on the 30th. Then on the 27th, I got a call from my aunt in WA saying that my dad had still not recovered from his most recent bout of pneumonia & was failing rapidly. After looking at flights, talking to my sister, making arrangements for board & care owner to pick-up Uncle Bob, etc. Ian & I left on the 28th by car to see him. However, when we got to my sister's in Eugene, OR we found that he had passed away around 3:00 that afternoon. My one consolation is that even if we had flown, with the times for the connecting flight from Seattle to Yakima we probably still couldn't have gotten there in time. But two of his sisters were there to sit with him until he passed. Anyway the 3 of us headed up there & we had a family memorial for him on the 1st. It was very nice - heard lots of good stories about Dad when he was younger. I was really touched by how many of the family were there, especially since it was on a midweek afternoon. Of the 8 surviving siblings, all but 1 of them were there. There were also quite a few of my cousins (there's 31 of us) & some of their children (and a few grandkids too). Ian was quite overwhelmed - he'd only met a few of them that he remembered. He was not quite 4 when he met most of them at my grandmother's funeral. I did end up with one goal for the week, and managed, just barely, to achieve it....I didn't kill my sister! LOL! It's really good that we live a state away from each other - I deal with her much better over the phone. We were really lucky though - saw lots of snow on the ground driving through the various mountains, but had clear weather & roads the whole way. Since I did all the driving, and thanks to my sister, ended up doing a great deal of it at night, I was quite thankful.
Anyway, here are my goals for this week:
Work on "Love Tokens" blackwork/cross-stitch project?
Take down & store Christmas decorations. (No, Bob didn't surprise me by doing this while I was gone)
Get my stitching supplies & magazines put away.
Get going on TAST2012 Challenge.
Stitching Guild Wednesday
Spend time with Uncle Bob
Massage (much needed!) on Friday

Oh, my, this has been a bad week for board memebrs here! I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad, Liz, and that you didn't get there in time. But it sounds like the memorial was a wonderful thing for everyone concerned.
Oh, and it's a good thing you didn't kill your sister too!
