Quick note: could you please clarify in the post that these are US laws? I got really excited until I realized this site doesn't apply to me in Canada. It's a great find though for many ladies. :-)

I will - sorry, being in Canada myself, you would think I would have realized that.

Most of these laws are a little confusing to me (and I'm a lawyer).  Many of them seem to say that a woman can breastfeed anywhere she has a "right to be" or is "authorized to be."  So, a public park, yes.  Someone else's private residence, no--I have no right to be there.  But what about a restaurant or a store?  Do I have a right to be in a Target store?  Am I authorized to be in a privately owned restaurant?  I wouldn't think so.  Can't they just kick me out? 

What I'd like to see is something along the lines of the Civil Rights Act--a ban on discrimination in public accomodations, with public accomodations defined broadly to include places like restaurants, movie theaters, etc.
