Hi ladies,

I have a good friend and our daughters are the same age they are, in the same class and also very good friends. The situation is this. She confided in me a few weeks ago that she had a miscarriage last year. I told her I was sorry for her loss and she said her and her husband are not trying for a second baby. For some strange reason I am nervous to tell her I am expecting. Both of us have only child I am afraid once she finds out I am expecting our relationship will change and we will grow apart. We always had a lot in common more than the fact that we only had once child. I'm just wondering when is the right time to tell her? Thanks for listening.

She may change her mind, of fate may do it for her ;-) After my last miscarriage my husband had scheduled a vasectomy for the spring... well here we are, and excited as ever! A true friend might find it tough to hear if she's still grieving, but she will be excited for you. My SIL was due right around when my baby would have been, and it was tough to hear that. But I've gotten through it. Her daughter is beautiful, and I'm happy for them. Unfortunately for someone suffering, the world does go on. So congrats, and hopefully she's a good friend that can learn to be happy for you!

I think she'd be more upset if you didn't tell her. I would approach it in a sensitive manner and I'm sure she will be thrilled for you.

Thank you so much for the wonderful advice. I feel so bad because I told two women, one of the two who may have already told her :smileysad: I feel like such a horrible friend now.  I live in a very small town. I was just so excited  the day I got the bfp it slipped out. Had I not known about her miscarriage I probably would have told her. I know I would feel hurt if a close friend of mine had told an aquantence before me.  I was thinking of telling her tomorrow and then just saying the truth I had some bleeding and wanted to wait on announcing the pregnancy. What do you think?

Just don't tell her in a group setting. That is the worst.
