These tips come from a cute blog I ran across today. Check out the Dick & Jane type party she did for her twins. Absolutely adorable!

I love the idea of pulling a theme from what you already have. Any other tips you can share?

For the last few parties we've had, I've done a combo craft / goodie to take home. Goodie bags seem to be the norm now, but I hate to load them with junk. For DD's birthday we had the kids decorate picture frames and take them home. I took photos of the kids together and sent them along with DD's thank you note.

For DS's birthday, we made light sabers for all the kids. The used them during the party as an activity, then were able to take them home too.

I went to a party one time where we made light from the cans we used to make the food for the party.

We puncned designs in the clean cans then we painted the cans to match the party decor and put tealights in the cans to illuminate the party area.

Those are so cool Brenda! I saw some on Craft Gawker once and have really wanted to make some. They looked kind of like this (I can't find the exact ones)~

I'd love to do an evening party outside and hang them up all around.
