Tips for a Moms Group Photowalk in my yard?

Hi there,

I am hosting a photo walk for my Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) group and the whole event is up to me. I'm planning to host it at my house this Spring. I have a nice yard with lots of little spots for portraits and plenty of flower beds, flowering trees,a swing set, kid's wagon, gazebo, pergola, etc.

This won't be a class, but rather a chance for moms to bring their cameras, snap some pictures, and later compare them as a learning experience. If it goes well, we can do more in other locations.

In our group, if you don't provide child care or let moms bring the kids, it's hard to get attendance at events. So, I am planning for kids to be everywhere. It might be a bit chaotic, but it will be all outdoors and we'll have snacks and a playdate atmosphere. I plan to just walk around and encourage people to shoot, try something new, and answer q's they might have about their cameras or photography in general. I might enlist some fellow photogs to join in as leaders.

One selling point is that moms can take pictures of other moms and their kids - so often moms get left out of the shots.

Before they leave, I'll upload everyones pictures. Then I'll display some and do a presentation at the following MOPS meeting. I wanted to give info at that time about organizing digital pictures.

Any tips for the event itself? I'd appreciate any iideas. Thanks!
