School Day Chit Chat
Cell Phones at School
I came by this article today about a school in Pennsylvania that is banning students from wearing Ugg boots to school. Why? Because students are hiding their cell phones in the boots, bringing them into classrooms, where they are banned.
This is happening at a middle school but Jacob was telling me that "everyone brings their cell phone to school" in his class (expect him! he doesn't have a cell phone!). Anyway, this got me thinking. What are the cell phone rules at your school? Does your grade-school aged child have a cell phone?

Neither my 4th or 6th grader have a cell phone, but when I chaperoned a field trip for ds11 (6th, 7th and 8th graders) a TON of kids had phones- nice iPhones and other smart phones. IMHO- ridiculous for most of them.
Our middle school doesn't allow cell phones except stored in your locker, turned off (you can turn them on before and after school). I don't know if our elementary even has a policy, but it probably falls under district policy.

I don't have to worry about the younger kids...they don't have cells.
