Stitching Blogger's Question: February

This quote is from LakeStitcher: http://lakestitcher.blogspot.com/2012/02/breaking-up-is-hard-to-do.html

"February's SBQ is about break-ups.  Is there anything in your stash that you are ready to end your relationship with?  I know some of you never discard a project, but I certainly do!  I'll eventually decide that I've lost that loving feeling.  Enough is enough and I'll toss the whole thing in a bag as a give away.

"How about you?  Is there anything that's still calling (and emailing and texting) you, but you are SO not interested in it anymore.  (Wait...are we still talking needlework here?)  So write about it.  (Not him or her....that's a post for another day)  Take a picture too, if you'd like."

And if you like, post about it on her site at the link above...

OK, there are a LOT of charts in my stash I will never stitch and probably I can say the same for some of the kits that I have accumulated over the years. But I'm awfully possessive and not likely to throw them away. I might gift them to someone who really really wanted one or more of them, or maybe even go so far as to sell them at the community yard sale, but they'll have to be donated or pitched when I die, I suspect!

As for pieces I've started but never finished, there is a better chance I'd give them away than not, but I'm trying to get them all finished instead. Really, I am trying... I'm down to 4 UFO cross stitch, 1 UFO crewel and a few UFO needlepoint and I'll be out of that hole. At the rate I'm going, I may be going into my private hole-in-the-ground before I get out of  my UFO hole but... I'm trying!

Carol,

I think you are making amazing progress and should be out of that hole soon. I wish I could join you!

I do have some things that I don't really want anymore but I haven't made the least move towards getting rid of them. But I have thought about it! I have one of those serial books that comes out at Christmas time. I think it is from Oxmore house or something like that. I got this year's edition in October and I haven't even opened it yet. Somehow I need to stop that as they have become quite expensive and I really don't use them. I thought about giving the Library the whole lot and let them sell them in the used book sale.

If you do donate to the library, have them sign a receipt because then you can call them a charitable deduction. I did that all the time in Texas AND London!

Oh goodness, do I have a few of those! I actually threw one away a few weeks ago. It was a purse I started a year ago and put aside. I kept looking at it and eventually decided that I just didn't love it anymore and the whole thing went in the trash. The fabric was from a skirt I got a Goodwill, so I didn't feel too bad about ditching it.
