What is the most indispensable item in your studio or work space?

We all need needles (of one kind or another), threads (of one kind or another) and, in some cases, fabrics. And many of us have sewing machines as well (Although I suppose they aren't indespensible if you have a fine sewing hand...). But... we have other items in our crafting spaces as well ---  so my question for you today is:

What tool can't you stitch without? What tool makes creating that much easier and more enjoyable?

For me, it's lighting. I find it very difficult to just stitch in "normal" daylight --- it's either too dim or too bright. So I adjust, using one of my three OttLites! And I much prefer my floor-model OttLites, the ones with the magnifier lens on an arm that can stretch over my work. These old eyes NEED a magnifier!

I need light and magnification also. I use an Ott litight also but my magnifier sits on my table and this isn't as convient as my Dazor but one of my Hoya (climbing plant)  has taken over that and it isn't as bright as the Ott light.

Because of my need for light it isn't as comfortable stitching in this house as it was the last one.

Plus that I need my very fine zweezers to pick cat fir out of my stitching.

Speaking of cat fur, how is Abby today? And Glacier? Any news from the vets?

Abby was snowed with her antihistamines and so I held her next dose. She wasn't eating, drinking or eliminating anything. But if I don't give her the antihistamine she starts scratching her head and gets everything bleeding again. But over all her head is beginning to look better.

Gracier on the other hand is going downhill. I don't know how my sister found this out but his hemoglobin was down to 13 today, with normal being 35-40, and so they had to give him a blood transfusion. He got a reaction to that and didn't do well and so he is still in the emergency vet hospital.

They still don't have a diagnosis but are leaning towards feline leukemia. For some reason he was never vaccinated against this and apparently neither was her new kitty. It has to do with them being inside cats. Abby was vaccinated for this but because she is an inside cat she doesn't get vaccinated for it anymore. It is highly contagious. So it is possible Harriette will lose both of her kitties. Glacier had a bone marrow test done on Thursday but the results of that haven't come back yet. What is so strange about this is that these kitties get appropriate cat medical care. And if it is FL they don't know how he caught it.
