Recently, there was a dear abby letter from a woman whose ex was getting married, but she had not met the wife-to-be.

When do you think it is appropriate to meet? When did you meet in your situation?

well me and my DH's first "date" was in the park with our kids.... it was really just a play date for our kids, and a way for us to get to know each other more... but if the boyfriend/girlfriend has no kids, i would wait to make sure that you REALLY like this guy/girl before you introduce your kids to them.

Lol...maybe I wasn't clear. I meant the ex-spouse meeting the new partner/spouse.

I met my ex's wife when he came to pick up dd one afternoon. It was shortly after they decided to move in together, but were still dating.
As for my DF's ex, I met her as well one day when I went with him to pick his girls up.
As for when the right or wrong time is, I don't think there is a definite answer on that one. It's more what fits in with each situation.

ha ha ha, ooooh, i see.... um.... i know in SOME circumstances, they never have... and the SM has no desire to, and the DH could care less if she does... so they nevre meet.... i met the BM when she came to pick up SD early one day. she just walked in to DHs house no knock or anything... i was like... uh, rude much? but that's just all part of her crazy way of life... he hd to change the locks before.... but someone left the door unlocked by mistake.... you would think she would get the idea whne the locks were changed, he doesn't want you barging in. it was pretty awkward. and SD tooted on my lap while BM was urging her to leave with her, that made it even more awkward...
