Vasectomy/Tubal Reversal Journey
OPK Help
I feel like such a dunce, but as I've never have a positive OPK I'm curious. I'm using bulk test strips I got on Amazon. So does the test line get darker and darker and then after ovulation get lighter and lighter or does the test line just not show up anymore? I'm frustrated because I'm testing twice a day and midday the test line was darker than the evening test. Today's midday test was similar to yesterday's. I'm CD12.

Bumping my own thread with new info. I'm an internet-research-aholic. According to "http://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/opk.html" the optimal time to test is 2pm, although you can still test up until 8pm. I'm supposing I timed my test wrong on CD11/12, because my opks are now getting lighter. I just ordered the suggested Ovuquick tests from Amazon. Pricey things, but maybe they'll work for me next month.

Very possible. They were much lighter yesterday and slightly darker today, CD14, but not as dark as CD11, if that makes any sense at all. I'm thinking that CD11 was probably THE positive test day and I didn't catch it at the right time. I'm going to test for a few more days, just at 2pm to make sure.

I have always had the tests start light, get darker, then get light again. It has worked perfect the months that I have used OPKs. Mine do not show color until about CD14 until CD 18 or 19. If I did not test I would assume that I ovulate around day 14, which has not been true, ever. I know the sticks expire quicker once they have been exposed to air, so I get a fresh kit every month.
